Today I bring you this tutorial to create a pattern fill in Adobe Photoshop.
It often happens, when I quit doing graphic design for a long time just coding websites, that I forget certain tools that Adobe Photoshop has, how to apply a pattern fill for example.
So this time we are going to review the steps to create and apply a pattern fill to a background color.
First of all, you must have an image that serves as a pattern (if you want to create a mosaic effect, be sure to give the enough blank gap at corners).
Then we go to “Edition” and click on “Define Pattern”.
A window will appear where we can assign a name to the image that we want to use as pattern.
Now we go to the background or canvas where we want to apply the created pattern, so we go to “Edition” and click on “Pattern Fill”.
In the “Content” section make sure that “Pattern” is the option selected in the “Use” dropdown menu and click on Custom Pattern to choose the image we just named.
Once chosen the wish pattern we click “OK”.
Our layer will have a mosaic effect if you gave it the correct gap at the beginning.
And that’s it with the tutorial to create a pattern fill in Photoshop, I hope it will be useful to you.
